Rapt is all about reuse. The concept of fabric gift wrap is that you don’t throw it away. Wrap, Receive. Rewrap. Regift. Whether you keep our fabric sheets in house for family members or give them away to friends, our sheets will live on to wrap another day! And another. Because fabric can last a lifetime.

When a house was being remodeled and these beautiful Scalamandre-style silk plaid and silk embroidered floral prints were coming down we began thinking about cutting them up. It would be time-consuming to do the necessary work to make them usable, but we were thrilled to try to repurpose the beautiful silk into wrapping sheets for an even more elevated wrapping. 

There was no need for them to be thrown away since they still had plenty of life in them. We took the curtains apart, seam ripping and trimming away the faded and frayed sections. Then we laid out the fabric on my dining room table and cut it into sheets of multiple sizes with a rotary blade. We normally have our cutting done by professionals, but we figured out a way to do it ourselves for this project. Then our sewing team here in Massachusetts did the double-stitch hemming.
