“When you give a gift wrapped in Rapt, do you ask for the wrapping back?” We get this question a lot, and it always makes us laugh. It’s a good question and can be awkward. Our answer is usually, “It depends on your relationship!” 

For some, the gift wrap IS the present. They bought a set of Rapt as a gift because their friend is interested in sustainability and they know it will be a hit. Plus, they are secretly hoping to get a gift wrapped in Rapt on their birthday! 

For others, they are intentionally giving two presents: the gift wrap and the gift and so it’s not an issue. 

And for yet another group, they love the idea of reusable gift wrap but would like to keep it for their own future use. We totally get that. Cindy and I often note that we are split on that point. Cindy wants to keep it in-house to make every birthday a little bit easier; and I like to give it away and pay it forward..

If you are comfortable, we say go ahead and ask for it back. Or be sneaky about it like I was for my son’s 24 birthday several years ago. We were at a restaurant with lots of family members. After my son opened his gifts (naturally rapt in Rapt!) I surreptitiously took the Rapt sheets and tucked them into my bag. But it came back to bite me. Three days later, he called to ask if I knew what happened to his birthday Rapt. He wanted to use it for a friend’s birthday. I was caught red-handed!! Moral of the story: ask before taking it back.
